Intention

© Jennifer Noel Bower 2012 - teen character studies
I have every intention of building my own rainbow nation of colorful teens for my portfolio...(and finishing this Youth Sunday inspired WIP that keeps getting back burner-ed by life and non-personal projects.) So, for now it just looks like they are doing the Hand Jive.

Anyone else struggling with having too much LIFE on their plate? I try to remind myself that this illustration dream is a life long journey and sometimes I just need to move along at a slower pace.

  1. Really nice piece and nice composition, Jen. The scarves are a nice touch.

Only one thing I'm wondering; Is the redhead picking his pocket? ha ha.

  2. Ah! I didn't notice until Ted's comment that she may be picking his pocket! They look like such nice people and the scarves are really cool.

  3. Ha ha! Oh lawdy! Now I really need to finish this one. Can't have my redhead walking around like she is picking pockets or tweaking butts. That is so funny. In my sketch they are holding banners aloft so the hands make more sense with something actually IN them.

  4. Love the colors and composition! And yes, life is very annoying when trying to find to paint and draw and pursue an illustration career and...etc. But love seeing you create, my friend!

  5. I still love this so much! That red head is striking. I can't take my eyes off of her. You are talented.

I'm with you with the struggling plate of LIFE. I'm trying to figure it all out while trying to be a little kinder to myself. It's nice to have you on this hike with me!

  7. Hey ya'll. Thanks so much. It does help so much knowing that others are juggling work-work, family, friends and trying to make this dream become a reality. So glad to have you on this journey with me. You are my rocks!

  10. I totally agree with the LIFE issue. Everything seems to get in the way of drawing (and even when I have time, my subconscious gets in the way as well). But, it looks like you're triumphing, one step at a time. Awesome illustration!

  12. Oh I hear you Jen..LOUD and clear!
Things have a habit of never happening as quick as I want..but I'm beginning to realise the getting there is equally as important and worth savouring...the small steps made and little hurdles overcome.
Love your hand jiving rainbow teens :)xx
